National Honorary Member passes....
National Honorary Member Soror Evelyn Lipford Allen passed away on Wednesday (2/10/10) of last week.Syntaktes Walsh remembers Soror Allen, "[Soror Allen] was very active with the Eta Iota Sigma Chapter until she passed. She was always ready and willing to serve in any capacity. She was a devoted member of the scholarship, phone tree, and founders’ day committees. She was always ready to support the conferences and attended quite a few NER Conferences and several Boules until her health failed. She never let anything hold her back... She will be greatly missed."

The Daily Campus - KICKOFF CELEBRATES HERITAGE, DIVERSITY
"An art show by UConn alum David Jackson in the Student Union Ballroom kicked off Black History Month on Thursday.
The night’s theme was “Circle of Influence: Hip-Hop and the Arts, Culture, and History.” The African-American Cultural Center hosted the events in hopes of educating the community about the history of blacks and their previous struggle with the basic human rights of freedom and equality..."

**Northeast Region Yearbook**

The Northeast Region Public Relations Committee is working diligently on collecting chapter photos for the Regional Yearbook. We ask that ALL Undergraduate and Graduate Chapters who have not submitted their photo to do so ASAP! The deadline has already passed. We want to be inclusive of all chapters so we are giving you another chance to submit photos. Please don't delay.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc-Iota Alpha Sigma announced it will host a Women’s Day Brunch on March 20, 2010 to honor seven phenomenal women of the community who have demonstrated they are “Dedicated to Service, Committed to Progress”.
Sigma Gamma Rho is pleased to be honoring seven women in our local communities who share our mission to continue to grow through Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service.
