Today, the Eta Nu Sigma Brooklyn & Queens Alumnae Chapter proudly celebrates a momentous occasion, the chapter’s 20th anniversary. The chapter celebrated two decades of sisterhood, scholarship, and service. Eta Nu Sigma was charted in 1991 by seven charting members: Michelle Orranasky-Arroyo, Angela Heres, Zelica Henry, Cheryl Barnes-Horton, Grace Powell, Judith Ricot and Adrienne Simmons.
Eta Nu Sigma’s primary purpose was to foster sisterhood among its members, while providing community service, scholarship, and empowerment to New York’s Brooklyn and Queens Communities. The chapter has done so with service projects such as Wee Savers, a program providing youth oriented financial workshops, Operation Big Book Bag, which provides school supplies to underprivileged students, and Pamper a NICU Family Day which supports families of premature babies.
To celebrate its 20 years, Eta Nu Sigma will host an evening gala at Terrace on the Park, Flushing, NY at 8pm. Sorors, friends, and supporters, are all invited. Guests are sure to enjoy an elegant evening of sophistication, complete with fine dining, toasting, and dancing to live music performed by Perfect Vibe.
The gala is highly anticipated among Eta Nu Sigma members as it not only commemorates 20 years of existence, but in conjunction with the chapter’s philanthropic arm, Seven Roses Legacy Foundation (SRLF) (www.sevenroses.org), the event also supports the chapter’s scholarship fund and other youth enrichment programming.
Tickets for the gala are $125 which includes a cocktail hour, dinner, an open bar, and much more. Tickets and more information are available online at www.etanusigma.org/events.htm.
